Paraben Free Personal Care and Makeup

I know that when a lot of women browse the pharmacy or department store, they are tempted to buy makeup. Hooray for the girls who are not tempted and go all natural. Personally, I only wear mascara and lip gloss or eyeliner and lip gloss, and concealer for under eye circles because I don't sleep enough sometimes.

Many, dare I say, most, women accumulate makeup, which adds to clutter and items that you not only do not use, but hear this - it is actually bad for your skin and your body internally. Up to 60% of what we put on our skin goes into our bloodstream via the pores. For instance, the ingredient that 99% of makeup have to preserve them are parabens (methyl, bythyl, etc.), which have been studied by scientists and linked to cancer, hormonal problems and endocrine disorders, skin problems, etc. Some other chemicals that are bad for the health are:

These chemicals are also in products that guys use, like aftershave, lotion, shampoos, etc.

Bentonite
Propylene glycol
Diethanolamine (DEA)
Polyethylene glycol (PEG)
Benzylphanone
Sodium benzoate
Glycerin
Collagen
Talc
Sodium lauryl sulfate (in shampoos, cleansers, shower gels)

You can obtain more specific information on the dangers of these chemicals here.

It is sometimes difficult to find shampoos and makeup without these chemicals, so I have given a few places and brands below. The good news is though that once you find the paraben-free products and sodium lauryl sulfate free haircare and cleansers, you will buy less. In this case, less choice is better because it means you accumulate less clutter and you only buy things you need.

Some Paraben Free Brands
Beware of green-washing labels because many companies put the words natural or organic on their products, but they are not chemical free. The only way to tell is if the products say "paraben-free" or if you read the ingredients labels.

Sally Hansen has a new paraben-free line, from which I use their mascara. Mascaras with parabens have broken my lashes in the past. This one accentuates it, though not extreme volume or length, which is fine because my lashes are pretty long, though thin (which is why I wear mascara). Their liquid eyeliner is not so good because it washes right off, and the concealer broke my sensitive skin out. The lipsticks/gloss have very pretty colors and leave lips soft. Physician's Formula has a kohl eyeliner in their mineral wear line that does not have talc or parabens, but read the labels on all their products because many have chemicals as well.
Below are other cosmetic companies I found on here that have paraben-free makeup, though some may be hard to find. Ricky's NYC has a lot of natural shampoos and makeups, but it can be a little pricey. I usually don't mind the higher expense because it means I buy less and have less in the house.
I would like to make my own shampoos or other products someday, but my skin is very sensitive, so it is difficult. If anyone has ideas, please share. I will also let you know when I come across more eco-friendly and health friendly products.
